RealPlayer je kvalitní univerzální multimediální přehrávač, který umí přehrávat všechny obvyklé formáty audia a videa (MPEG, MP3, MP2, AVI, WAV, WMA, WMV, MOV aj.), vlastní formáty Real Audio (RA) a Real Media (RM) a animace vytvořené ve vektorovém editoru Flash (SWF).
Lze pomocí něj poslouchat internetová rádia a sledovat internetové televize z celého světa, včetně českých.
